Even though many people are quick to state that online bingo halls are taking in less money that they used to, certain days can still see a hall do very well financially. Bingo can still be a big draw and on the right night, a hall can look to take in a lot of money. With bingo games, food and drink offerings and other additional games, there is still a chance for a bingo hall to bring in the money to make it a success.
Bingo robberies appear to happen all too often
Unfortunately, this is something that is understood by robbers and it is not uncommon for people to deliberately target bingo halls as a way of getting a lot of money in a short space of time. Every robbery is different so there is no point in trying to place the blame of society or any specific cause; this is something that cannot be outlined until the responsible people are caught.
At the moment, robbers who grabbed around £1,000 from a bingo hall in Brighton on Sunday night have not been captured after their daring aid. It has been reported that two men targeted the tills in the main foyer of the Beacon Bingo hall with one of the two men carrying a sharp instrument.
Four staff members were present at the time of the robbery
There were four workers in the hall who have been left shaken up by the incident but at least nobody was hurt during the incident. There were no customers present in the building at the time of the robbery, which again is a positive note but also of no real comfort to the staff members who were confronted by the robbers.
The incident took place around 1930 on Sunday evening and the robbers made their escape from a side exit of the building, where there was a car waiting for them, enabling them to get a quick get away.
The getaway car is reported to be a Mondeo Saloon, which had been stolen on Saturday, linking two crimes and perhaps giving the police a better chance of catching the criminals. The car was abandoned in Southhall Road with both of the men being described as being in their late 20s.
Sussex Police are currently investigating the robbery and are imploring anyone who may have noticed anything untoward to contact them.
